Job was a righteous man- more than anyone on the face of the earth. How fair was it that he lost his money, his family and his health? Why did god pick on Job. Oh- and who was this 'satan' who came forward to aks permission from god to attack Job? Did Job do something wrong? Or is God unfair and life just arbitrary?

The Psalms, Proverbs and other Wisdom literature are full of sayings about the triumph of the righteous man and the downfall of the wicked. Was Job secretly wicked? Was God using him to teach him a lesson?

And how about Job's friends- if you can call them that. Why were they kicking Job while he was down? How helpful and compassionate were they?
