HAITI NEWS

HAITI SOLIDARITY WEEK will be celebrated by parishes in the Diocese of Richmond from February 4 through the 12th. This week is a time to promote a stronger connection to our twin parish of St. Louis on the island of LaGonave and to remember them in our prayers. Look for the Haiti Solidarity Week calendar in next week’s bulletin and try some of the suggested activities with your family. You will have a better understanding of life in our twin parish. Haiti Outreach members will be dispensing blue solidarity ribbons after each Mass next weekend. Wear one proudly through the week. Men anpil chay pa lou. Many hands make the load lighter. Mesi anpil. Thank you very much.

SEE THE INSERT IN TODAY'S BULLETIN FOR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO CELEBRATE.

WOMEN’S LENTEN RETREAT

A WOMEN’S LENTEN RETREAT is being offered as a gift to all the women of St. Francis by the Catholic Daughters on Saturday, March 17 in Assisi Hall. Inspirational speaker Donna Lou Shickel will present a program about discerning which spiritual gifts have been given to each of us, and to inspire and enable us to use them to build up the Kingdom of God. There is no pre-registration required.

The day will start with Mass at 8:00 AM followed by a continental breakfast. Lunch will be served after the talks, about 1:00 PM followed by confession if you wish.  Mark your calendars now!

THE WORLD DAY OF THE SICK will be observed on Saturday February 11. Father Joe will administer the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick at the 5:00 PM Mass.  Anyone who is suffering from a mental or physical ailment, a chronic condition, or will be undergoing a medical procedure is invited to partake of the special graces of this sacrament.
