HAITI MILK BOTTLES

Lent is just around the corner! We will once again collect for Haiti through the milk bottle ministry. Please remember to “talk it up” within your classrooms. CCD has always sent a generous amount of money to our twin parish, each year giving more than the year before!

The bottles will be in your classroom February 26, the first Sunday in Lent. Please remember to distribute on that Sunday! If a student is absent, please write his/her name down and make sure a bottle is given out to absent students the following Sunday.

Bottles will be collected from classrooms on April 15th and 22nd.

If bottles come in at later dates, please get them into my office to be locked up. Please stress that Lent is the time for almsgiving with love and generosity.

I have some great worksheets that are classroom reproducible for the Lenten season. If you would like some supplementary ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me via your attendance folder!

In Christ,

Becky A.

Catholic WorkCamps The Catholic Heart WorkCamp has published this summer’s schedule (2012) for rising 8th graders through high school. Youth can give a week of service through mission and labor in selected areas with other Catholic youth from all over the U.S. Registration forms are available on line or in the CCD class. Diocesan WorkCamp: Michael School, our diocesan leader of youth ministry, will also publish a diocesan sponsored work camp here in our diocese for the 2012 summer season. The camp information will be available soon by clicking the “youth” section on our Richmond Diocese’s website.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.
